born in Kyoto, Japan, i began my artistic journey as a nail artist in my teens, using nails as my first medium to express creativity. in 2012, i relocated to New York City as my work continued to evolve.
In Nolita, I founded BISOU, a nail atelier that went beyond the idea of a traditional salon, focusing on detailed and intricate nail art.
after more than a decade working in nail artistry, i felt drawn to move beyond its impermanence. i began transitioning from temporary expressions to permanent work, exploring tattooing as a way to create pieces that stay with people and become part of their lives.
today, i go back and forth between Japan and New York. technique and design continue to shape my practice as i explore forms that aren’t always immediately visible.
through the act of making, i look for moments of calm and presence — a quiet awareness of simply being.
